Two local high school hoops events have been postponed due to weather
Officials from two local high school basketball tournaments have informed TWI Sports that tonight's will be postponed.
The Honesdale Area Jaycees Holiday Classic and the Forest City Rotary Tournament are both taking precautionary measures as a nasty winter storm approaches from the southwest.
Honesdale Athletic Director Chuck Alexander reports that opening round action for boys and girls has been moved to Friday. Championship and consolation contests will now be held Saturday.
All games at the Jaycees Tournament are held in the Honesdale High School and Wayne Highlands Middle School gyms.
Meanwhile, Western Wayne's boys team will have to wait at least 24 more hours to compete for a Forest City Rotary crown. Coach Mike Nepa's lads won their first game of the season Monday over the Foresters, catapulting them into the title tilt.
The Wildcats will take on Tunkhannock in the final, which is now slated for 7 p.m. Thursday night at Forest City Regional.
