On Wednesday, Dec. 19, 20 of Abby Pittenger's third grade "elves" from the Preston Area School visited Bethany Village, a senior living community, to spread some Christmas spirit during the holiday season.
The third grade "elves" sang Christmas carols, shared some home-made cookies and had some meaningful conversations with the residents at Bethany Village.
Mrs. Megan Murray, also a teacher at Preston, came along to join in the festivities.
Judy Banks and Lynn Henderson, serving as "elf" parent volunteers, provided an extra hand and helped the children pass out cookies to the residents.
The smiles on the faces of the residents told the whole story!
The seniors at Bethany Village loved singing Christmas carols with the students, and their happiness was clearly evident as they chatted with Santa's little helpers!
Abby Pittenger stated, "It gave me such a proud feeling to see my students share some love with the residents at Bethany Village and see how well they conversed with each person they came in contact with. I can't wait to go back again!"
