    Ethnic intimidation
Twenty-one year old Mark Joseph Trail of Bethany pleaded guilty to one count of ethnic intimidation, which is a 2nd degree felony, three counts of terroristic threats-cause serious public inconvenience which are 2nd degree misdemeanors; and one count of criminal conspiracy, simple assault, also a 2nd degree misdemeanor.
The plea stems from an incident which took place between July 13 and July 16 in both Clinton and Canaan townships.
Trail, along with co-defendants Tyler Spencer of Linden, Tenn., Cassandra Robertson of Wayne County and two juveniles, drove through Camp Bonim in a large truck at a high rate of speed. Driving through the camp in this manner tore up fields and other open areas. They also chased campers and councilors while shooting at them with a paintball gun.
In a press release from the time of the incident, District Attorney Janine Edwards said of the crime: "These children were terrorized and in fear for their lives by the actions of this group. The vicious, cruel and obscene nature of the language hurled at the campers is unspeakable. Luckily none of the children suffered any serious physical injury, however the emotional damage done is immeasurable. This is outrageous conduct and will not be tolerated."
