— On Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 p.m. there will be a Contra Dance at The Cooperage, 1030 Main Street in Honesdale.
Contra Dancing is a style of partnered line dancing found around the world but particularly popular in the United States. A live band will play music, while a live caller will lead participants through various traditional dances.
It's great fun for all ages. No need to bring a partner, and don't worry if you've never contra danced before. There will be people on hand to teach you. Put on your dancing shoes, and come on out to Contra Dance at The Cooperage.
Suggested donation: $10 per adult; kids under the age of 15, free.
The Cooperage is operated by the The Cooperage Project, a non-profit organization that seeks to build community through performance events, learning opportunities and good times. For more information visit www.thecooperageproject.org or call 570.253.2020.
