It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is upon us once again.
Where did the year go?
It seems not long ago when we were wondering when winter was going to hit — and it never did.
This year could be the same, but we won't hold our breath!
During this time of the year, we should all pause and think about the positives in our lives. For many of us, we really don't have it that bad when you think about those who are going without food or can't purchase clothes for their children.
There are always charitable organizations who come forward this time of year to help those in need. If you can, please help out these organizations as they do an invaluable service.
But always remember charity isn't just about the holidays. In these hard economic times, people are hurting all year around. It seems the need for assistance continues to grow as people struggle to make ends meet.
As you sit down to have a hearty meal and kick back to watch some football, think about those less fortunate and if you can open your hearts to them, let that happen.
Those less fortunate are people just like everyone and when someone falls on hard times, it takes friends, neighbors and even strangers to pull them back up.
We can all help in that respect.
