Taut, compelling, and engaging, Roman Polanski's Oscar-nominated "Knife in The Water" is one of the most brilliant director debuts in film.
The narrative of the film involves a middle-age couple driving along a deserted road to the sea. The couple almost run over a young hitchhiker.
With patronizing good will, the husband invites him to come sailing on their boat. The sailboat becomes an ideal setting for the sardonic world view as battle of personalities and sexual tensions build slowly and subtly.
Throughout the film acting, music and camerawork all weave together to create an unexpectedly magical, brilliantly crafted, disturbing yet sensuous experience. The film is 94 minutes and is unrated.
Show time is 8:15 p.m. this Sunday at Cinema 6, Route 6 Mall, Honesdale.
A donation of $5 per person is suggested to help support the activities of the Arts Alliance.
The film will be preceded by a short introduction and followed by a discussion.
