- The Parish Hall of Grace Episcopal Church is a busy place, used by the congregation and numerous community organizations.
In recent years, the backstage curtain has been in poor condition.
So, members of the congregation decided it was time to replace the curtain and started a fundraising effort for the costly project.
As part of this effort, congregation member Sebastian Kiraly of Dzyn's by Sebastian of Honesdale donated the craftsmanship for the large curtain.
The curtain will be dedicated in memory of the late Irene Arledge of Dallas, who was Kiraly's first inspiration in beginning work in upholstery and design. The dedication will follow the 10 a.m. service Nov. 18 at the church at 827 Church Street.
Speaking of why he offered to donate his services, Kiraly said, "Grace Church does so much for the community, including feeding those in need and providing shelter from the cold. Having a nice stage gives us a place to hold fundraisers to help support the work of the parish."
"It's a wonderful place and there are wonderful people there," Kiraly added. "I just wanted to contribute something."
The cost of the fabric for the curtain is being covered by fundraising efforts by the congregation and donations by parishioners.
