It will soon be that time of year again when bells will be ringing.
The Salvation Army desperately needs volunteers to ring bells at Wal-Mart and K-Mart in Honesdale.
Please give of your time and help out the needy in Wayne County.
Last year The Salvation Army was able to help over 1,619 people with heating and utility bills, rent, food, clothing, summer camp and Christmas assistance.
The money that is raised in Wayne County stays in the county to meet the needs. This year the need is even greater.
This is a great thing to do with youth groups, men/women groups, with your family or a friend. Think of getting a group of coworkers together or challenging another work place to compete.
It does not need to be a whole day – the days are split into shifts of four hours. That still leaves you plenty of time. Don’t have four hours?Give whatever time you can.
Plus you have the satisfaction and great feeling of knowing that you helped with such a worthy cause.
If you can help ring or require more information, please call Beth Ackerman, kettle coordinator, at (570) 226-3242.
