It appears the Christmas spirit has not yet found a pair of area residents who are charged with beating a teenager after he slightly struck a car.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, at around 9:30 p.m. on Friday, a 16-year-old male was driving his vehicle in the Wal-Mart parking lot and "slightly bumped" another vehicle owned by Richard Steven Chmelik, 52, of Lake Ariel.
According to the report, Chmelik, along with Jennifer Leigh Chmelik, 37, Waymart, both exited their vehicle and then "forcefully removed" the teen from his car.
At that point, police said both Jennifer and Richard Chmelik "decided to physically assault the" teenager by "punching him about his face and head."
Citations for disorderly conduct and harassment were filed in district court against both of the suspects.
Anyone with further information is asked to contact Trooper John Chervanka at 253-7126.
