  • A hit and run accident and a theft are being investigated by police officials in Wayne County.
    In Honesdale Borough, police are investigating a hit and run on 8th Street near CVS Pharmacy.
    The victim reported that at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, she parked her 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee on the street. She returned to her vehicle at 9 p.m. and found damage to the driver's door.
    Honesdale Borough police said it appears someone may have backed out of the diagonal parking area on 8th Street and struck the vehicle.
    Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police at 253-1900.
    Burglary
    The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a burglary in The Hideout are of Salem Township.
    According to Trooper Robert Urban, sometime between July of this year and Oct. 26, a suspect or suspects broke into a home at 2538 Oak Circle.
    The side door of the residence was kicked in, according to police.
    Once inside, the suspect(s) took a 51-inch Samsung television with a serial number of Z4DZ3CQB807832 valued at $1,500, a 32-inch Vizio flats screen television with a serial number of LUKEADK4125430 valued at $600, a K2 snowboard valued at $300 and a Burton snowboard valued at $350. Total value of the items is $2,750.
