Here's this week's fall driving tip: Check your vehicle's headlights, taillights and turn signals to ensure they are working properly, since darkness will be part of many drivers' morning and evening commutes. (and, from personal experience – if you drive to work in the morning when it is still dark, be sure to turn your lights off when you arrive or you'll have a dead battery)
Exit 206 (Glenwood/Lenoxville) to Exit 230 (Great Bend) – Monday, Northbound between New Milford and Great Bend; Tuesday, Southbound between Lenox and Glenwood/Lenoxville; Wednesday, northbound, Lenoxville to Lenox- Bridge Repairs: Lane Restrictions, Delays 6AM to 4:30PM
*Exit 190 (Main Avenue) – South: The ramp from Main Avenue, Dickson City to I-81 South is closed; detour is 81 North to Exit 191B, back to 81 South. The ramp from I-81 South to Main Avenue is now utilizing the old on-ramp, so access from 81 to Main Avenue is still possible. Motorists should use extreme caution in this area.
*Exit 190 (Dickson City/Main Ave) to Exit 185 (Central Scranton Expressway) – South: Motorists should be alert for lane shifts and alternating traffic patterns. This should not cause delays, but motorists are urged to use caution in the work zone.
*Exit 230 (Great Bend) New traffic patterns effective on north and south bound. Single lane traffic. Delays should be expected. There are single lane closure on I-81 northbound from Exit 230 (Great Bend-Susquehanna) to the New York border. There is also a single lane closure on I-81 southbound from Exit 225 (New Milford) to 219 (Gibson) for micro seal paving operations. Work should continue for next several weeks. Motorist should use caution while traveling through the area and use alternate routes. The work is scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
*Exit 20 West: (Greentown/Lake Wallenpaupack) to Exit 17 (Newfoundland/Hamlin); westbound; single lane for milling, paving and guiderail repair. NOTE: This work will continue until October 2012.
*New York: There is a significant deck rehabilitation project Interstate 84 East in New York, from the PA/NY border to NY Exit 1. This work will take place until October and delays may back up into Pennsylvania.

*SR 438: Minichi Inc. will be closing SR 438 in Lackawanna Co. to replace the bridge superstructure. This is located at the Route 6/11 intersection to the intersection with SR 4009. Approx .5 miles. This will last until October 12. A detour is set up.

*SR 2001 – 401 - Construction and paving on Milford Rd, Bushkill, Pike County at the intersections of the Pine Ridge development and Municipal Drive will take place on Monday July 2, 2012 starting at 6 a.m. through 6 p.m., weather permitting. Motorists in that area are advised of traffic stops as the contractor paves both Pine Ridge and Municipal drive and Milford Rd through these intersections.
Delays will be anticipated as traffic is stopped before vehicles can cross the paved areas throughout the entire day. The contractor will not be working Tuesday or Wednesday due to the 4th of July Holiday; SR 2001 - Traffic switch on 2001 (Milford Road) starting on Monday, June 11. Traffic will move from the north side of road to south side of road. (Other side – newly built portion. Little Egypt Road will reopen to traffic.) Motorist on Pine Ridge and Municipal Drive (entrances off Milford Road) will have temporary lane configurations for one week as contractor rebuilds Pine Ridge and Municipal Drive to meet new elevation of Milford Road. Flagmen Controlled. 24/7The Traffic Switch will start Monday at 7:30 a.m. and should be completed by noon. Traffic Pattern will be in place for 2 months.
Route 171 Thompson Township – Monday October 1 to Friday October 5, 2012 Tree Work: Lane Restrictions 6:30 – 5:00
*SR 706 Montrose. The contractor will be starting a paving operation this coming Monday; 7/23/2012. Traffic stoppage will probably be longer than usual, because the work area will be longer. The paving operation consists of milling the existing pavement edge and replacing with fresh asphalt material. The contractor's working hours will still be the same. This work will be eastern end of the project to the intersection of SR 29 and 706.

*SR 4043 - Contractor plans to start construction of a new bridge on SR 4043 in Wayne Co. in the Village of Sherman. The Work is set to start the week of April 16. The work will include the building of a temporary road around the bridge. The contractor will then remove the existing structure that was mostly washed away during 2006 flooding. The new bridge is scheduled to be completed in August of 2013.
