The St. Padre Pio Prayer Group will gather on the feat of St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina on Sunday, Sept. 23-the 44th anniversary of his death on Sept. 23, 1968 at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 416 Church St., Honesdale, beginning at 2 p.m. with exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. Rev. William J.P. Langan, pastor and group spiritual director, will lead the faithful in praying for all priests.
The Rosary of the Blessed Mother will be followed by a reading from Sacred Scripture by Mercy Sister Elizabeth Brody. Father Langan will offer a spiritual reflection on the scriptural reading.
The Book of Special Intention invoking the intercession of St. Pio will be presented.
Prayers will be offered for expectant mothers, for the sick, those suffering from any kind of addiction, for those seeking employment and for our youth. The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be administered to those seriously ill or about to undergo surgery.
At 3 p.m., the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be chanted, followed by the Liturgy of the Hours (Vespers), Benediction of the BLessed Sacrament and closing with an individual blessing with the St. Pio Relic.
