Dennis Galamb is the President and founder of the Coasters Car Club.
The club, which started in 2006 and is completing its sixth year, has raised $43,260.15 to benefit local charities.
Donations from this very generous club have gone to The Wayne County Victims Intervention Program, The Wayne County Children's Christmas Bureau, Gino J. Merli Veterans Center, Hamlin and Lake Ariel Fire & Rescue, Pike County Children & Youth Services, Jacob Biesler Memorial Fund, A Wayne County Family in Need and Packages from Home which include phone cards for soldiers.
"Our mission is to help those in need, while sporting our custom and classic cars," said Galamb.
All monies raised come from all 100 members who work on monthly car shows, 50/50s and their annual holiday raffle. Members of the Coasters Car Club are from Wayne, Pike and Lackawanna counties.
Member meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at the Ledgedale Fire Hall. If anyone is interested in joining the club they can contact Galamb (club President) at 698-7966.
Recently the Coasters Car Club held a Spaghetti Dinner at Backdraft, Rt. 590, Lake Ariel, raising $1,490 for the Wayne County Children's Christmas Bureau. The club donates to the Christmas Bureau every year.
Lee Glassman, owner of Backdraft and Chef Rafael Gutierrez were presented a plaque from the Club for all of the hard work they did holding the benefit dinner.
