Brenda Sue Furman, 60 of White Mills, died on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born on May 21, 1952 in Hancock, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth J. and Helen Kahrs Furman. She was a graduate of Wallenpaupack Area High School, class of 1970. Brenda worked at The Wayne Independent where she was a type setter. Later she was employed at the Walmart Pharmacy in Honesdale.
Brenda was active in many community activities, and recently began attending the Hawley Seniors Center. An avid reader, she enjoyed spending time at the Hawley Library. Brenda also loved all kinds of music and played the piano at the White Mills United Methodist Church where she was a member. She also was known to appreciate a good comedy, especially the classics.
Surviving is her son Tye Furman and wife Amanda of Carson City, NV; her sister Teresa Garrity and husband Kenneth of Hawley; a brother Roger Furman and wife Cindy of Honesdale; nieces and a nephew,Craig and Shannon McKeel, Michele LaBar, Ashley and Brandi Furman; great nephews Walker Day and Alex McKeel; her granddogs Kaya and Marley and cat Max.
She was preceded in death by her sister Patricia McKeel.
