  •  — The Pocono Lake Region Chamber of Commerce  has announced a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening that will take place at PaPA, located at 75 Main Street (Route 6) in White Mills, on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 10 a.m.
    Everyone is invited to attend.
PaPA (Parker and Parker Art) is an exciting art and cultural center located four miles west of Hawley in White Mills. It is housed in a 33,000 square foot building rich in history, formerly known as a silk mill. Ronald and Yvonne Parker are dedicated to bringing cultural opportunities to the area.
The Parkers have owned or managed 23 galleries in America and Europe. Their international collection of contemporary art, acquired over a 30-year period, includes paintings, sculptures, photography, installations and assemblages.
Collecting and sharing art has been the mission of the Parkers since they met at the Basel Art Fair in Switzerland in 1990.
Ronald stated, “There is nothing more exciting and rewarding than to share art with the public,” when asked what motivates him. Ronald Parker is an artist, a writer, a thespian, an entrepreneur and a Ph.D. psychologist.
Yvonne, known as “The Beautifier,” is an artist, an interior designer (NYSID) and a former international fashion model. The Parkers live in a converted nunnery, “The Pointe,” in Lackawaxen at the confluence of the Delaware and Lackawaxen rivers. They spend their winters at “Casita Artistica” in West Palm Beach, Fla.
The current exhibition, “The Sensuous & The Beautiful,” will showcase 20-plus international and six national artists sharing their emotionally engaging and seductive work, which includes over 70 paintings, sculptures and objects of art. The show runs from July 14 – Aug. 11.
The Chamber welcomes PaPA to White Mills and invites everyone to take a look.
