The six-piece Eight Days of Blues is a rockin’ blues band for people of all ages – from those who grew up in the ‘60s and ‘70s to little kids who dance to the tunes. Originality, innovative dynamics, and a love for the blues create the band’s raw energy. The band will perform both original tunes and classic blues in their own rockin’ style with an R&B and jazzy edge.
Fronted by Lance Casper of Montague, New Jersey, the band features Scranton resident Julian Sparacino on alto saxophone and flute and Joe Bartos of Moscow on bass and back-up vocals. Other band members hail from Sussex County, New Jersey. They include lead guitarist, vocalist and song-writer Lance Casper, drummer Don Sandberg, guitarist and vocalist Kevin Hadley and keyboardist Mary Jasch.
Bartos started playing bass at 14 and has played in cover and classic rock bands in the Scranton metropolitan area since then. “I’m just an everyday working guy trying to have fun, get rid of stress from the week and meet new people,” he says.
Sparacino is also a pianist and composer. He is a lifetime jazz, blues and rock player who has performed with numerous blues greats including Muddy Waters.
Eight Days of Blues has their own style and doesn’t cover anyone. “We take songs done by blues greats and work them into our style and sound,” Casper says. “Expect to give your ears and feet a treat.”
So instead of sitting home, take a drive to the Wayne County Fair and have some toe-tapping fun. The Small Stage is located at the south end of the fairgrounds.
Eight Days of Blues will perform on the Small Stage at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, 270 Miller Drive (Rte. 191), Honesdale, PA 18431. Rain or shine.
