  • A trio of former Hornets will be playing a major role tonight during the unofficial start of the 2012 high school football season.
Memorial Stadium will provide the backdrop for 78th renewal of the Dream Game. This year’s edition of the event, which is sponsored by the Scranton Lions Club, will kick-off at 7:30 p.m. and feature graduated seniors from nearly every team in the LFC.
Honesdale will be well-represented this evening with three players roaming the turf for Coach Frank Pazzaglia’s County squad.
Jamie Blockberger, Nick Hessling and Regan Grossman are each slated to re-ceive serious playing time on defense.
“Playing in the Dream Game is a huge honor and I’m very proud of them,” Hornet Coach Jim Ludwig said. “They are great kids. They word hard and they play hard. I?can’t wait to see them out there.”
Blockberger is headed to Keystone College and hopes to continue his grid career afterward at either West Chester or Misericordia.
“Jamie’s motor just never stops running,” Coach Ludwig said. “He always gives 100% and plays with a huge amount of heart.”
Hessling is a hard-hitting linebacker who plans to walk on for either baseball or football at Wilkes.
“Nick is a hard-nosed kid,”?said Coach Ludwig. “He’s an excellent backer who can make a ton of tackles.”
Grossman is a defensive back who’s headed for Penn College in the fall.
“Regan has nice size,”?said Coach Ludwig. “He’s good in coverage, but he isn’t af-raid to come up and make a tackle, either.”
