Fourteen new members will be enshrined in the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame in September when Woodloch Pines hosts the 2012 Induction Dinner.
Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame officials are pleased to announce that the Selection Committee has revealed its latest list of inductees.
This year’s class represents a dazzling cross-section of athletes from around the region. Honesdale, Wallenpaupack Area and Western Wayne are represented.
The Class of 2012 is:?Jeff Firmstone, Sharon Peifer Gleichman, David Hopkins, Amy Keen Jones, Scott Kinzinger, Steve Langendoerfer, Patti Tuman Lipperini, James McHugh, Kate Meagher, Maria Langendoerfer Miller, Wes Simons, Bob Tamblyn, Irv Williams, Kevin Edwards.
This year’s Induction Dinner will be the 19th in the series. Once again, it will be hosted by The Inn at Woodloch Pines.
According to Chairman Greg Frigoletto, the 2012 dinner is scheduled for Saturday, September 22nd. There will be a social hour beginning at 5:00 p.m., followed by dinner and induction ceremonies starting at 6:00 p.m.

The Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame was founded back in 1993.
It was conceived and organized by General Dan O’Neill, Dr. Walter Barbe and Leroy Spoor. The first induction dinner took place in 1994.
Included in that first class of honorees were local heroes Christy Mathewson, Virginia Lobb Gentile, V. Keith Sutton, Jimmy Heller, Ruth McGinnis and Edwin “Snoz” Miller.
The Class of 2012 includes men and women from all walks of life with one thing in common: their hard work and dedication set an outstanding example for the youngsters who look up to them.
