    Fitting Tribute
The Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame was founded back in 1993.
It was conceived and organized by General Dan O’Neill, Dr. Walter Barbe and Leroy Spoor. The first induction dinner took place in 1994.
Included in that first class of honorees were local heroes Christy Mathewson, Virginia Lobb Gentile, V. Keith Sutton, Jimmy Heller, Ruth McGinnis and Edwin “Snoz” Miller.
The Class of 2012 includes men and women from all walks of life with one thing in common: their hard work and dedication set an outstanding example for the youngsters who look up to them.
Stay tuned to TWI Sports over the course of the next few weeks as we publish capsule biographies of each new inductee.
