  • CRVC Posts 10th Consecutive Diamond Win

  • Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic is all alone in first place after ace Becky Loring turned in another mound masterpiece this week in Wayne County Women's Softball League action.

  • Thanks in large part to another stellar pitching performance from Becky Loring, Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic has solidified its hold on first place in the Wayne County Women’s Softball League.
    Loring dominated Cora’s Bistro Monday evening in Bingham Park, allowing just five basehits in firing a complete game 2-0 shutout at the Beavers.
    With this victory, CRVC upped its perfect record to 10-0 for the season.
    Next on the agenda for the Beach Lake-based ball club is a return trip to Hawley and an encounter with 590 Auto. First pitch for this game is slated for 6:30 p.m. Monday in Bingham Park.
    Pitchers’ Duel
    Loring has been the circuit’s dominant twirler so far this summer.
    Becky in unbeaten after seven starts and has helped CRVC roll to 10 consecutive wins so far in 2012.
    On Monday, Loring put up seven shutout innings, striking out seven while issuing just one walk. Becky also helped her own cause at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a run scored.
    Nicki Malloy and Kristen Scull each collected an RBI off Beavers’ starter Megan Fuller. The flame-throwing righty surrendered eight hits and one earned run in seven frames.
    Fuller fanned four and didn’t walk a batter.
    Brighid Bauer, Courtney Roche, Stacy Hughes, Sue Zieres and Leah Simko accounted for Cora’s hits.
    Kelly Gombita, Lindsey Dirlam and Lori Curtis rounded out CRVC’s offensive attack.
