  • On a picture perfect day for softball, Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic sent an unambiguous message to the rest of the Wayne County Women’s League.
CRVC dominated its battle with Ravenhaus, scoring early & often en route to a 21-0 Mercy Rule romp.
With this win, the Beach Lake based ballclub upped its league leading record to 7-0. CRVC will return to the diamond next Monday for a game against Elegante. That contest is slated for a 6:30 p.m. start at Bingham Park in Hawley.

Becky Loring took the hill as CRVC’s starter and turned in another stellar effort.
The fireballing righty dominated a normally high powered offense. She went five shutout innings on her way to the complete game three-hitter.
Allison Glossenger opposed Loring on this night for Ravenhaus and was saddled with the loss.
Offensively, Cherry Ridge got out of the gate early, scoring 10 runs in the first two frames en route to a lopsided win.
Chris Gustin led the way offensively for CRVC. The veteran outfielder banged out three hits in five plate appearances. Gustin singled, doubled and tripled, finishing up with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Carley Gustin also enjoyed a big day at the dish. The former Paupack and Neumann College star ripped three hits and drove in an eye-popping five runs.
Kristen Scull and Lori Curtis also contributed to the CRVC?cause with two RBIs apiece.
Loring supported her own cause with two RBIs and a Gold Glove-worthy defensive effort.
Outfielders Heidi Blade and Kelly Gombita, along with shortstop Lindsey Dir-lam, added an RBI?each.
