Summer Leagues and regional USBC tournament action dominated the calendar this past week at Wallenpaupack Bowling Center.
This week, Wallenpaupack Bowling Center hosted the first annual Anthracite Valley USBC Scratch Masters Tournament.
This tournament featured a guaranteed $400 prize fund and paid a spot for the first place finisher to compete in the PA State Masters Tournament. There were 13 total entries in this tournament, and the top 8 made the match-play style finals.
Hawley's Michael Markis qualified first and would go on to defeat P.J. Sonday to win the tournament.
Bethany's Joseph Felicetta knocked the pins dead this week with a 252 game during the Tuesday Adult/Youth League.
Felicetta, who has been receiving weekly coaching from Michael Markis, has been rolling the ball much more consistently and carrying much better than in previous months.
Hunter Buckley has been impressive of late, not relenting from her strong start to the season. She had a 203 this week in the Tuesday Adult/ Youth League, the only woman to reach the 200 mark.
The Monday PBA League has been progressing nicely. The league is currently being lead by Jason Markle and Fran Luzzi who both come here from Port Jervis.
Luzzi made the finals two weeks ago at a PBA Regional event held in Turnersville, NJ and ever since has been rolling a hot ball.
Clare Agnesini and Marty Kirsten, Jr. are close behind Luzzi and Markle in second place.
The top four places after 14 weeks make the stepladder finals.
