Each February, a team of ice carvers create Crystal Cabin Fever- a special event made from over 100 tons of ice. This year’s theme is African Safari, and features a dual run 40-foot ice slide, ice hut, ice elephant, 15- foot ice giraffes and ice safari jeep! Crystal Cabin Fever is open daily through Sunday, Feb. 26.
Admission is $10 for an Adult and $6 for a child ages 3-15. Though there have been days of warmer weather, the display will remain open as planned!
This Saturday, Feb. 25, carvers from the tri-state area will compete in a professional ice carving competition for cash prizes. From 12-4 they will be using 600 pounds of ice to create African Safari themed sculptures.
Sunday, Feb. 26 features an Elimination-style ice carving competition from 12-3 p.m. Carvers will compete by carving a 300 pound sculpture each round until a final winner is chosen. The audience will aid in voting in this exciting, fast-paced competition.
