Electric City is still undefeated on the season and well on its way to a divisional title in the Regional American Football League.
Unfortunately for local fans, the Chargers’ Week Eight battle with the Phila-delphia Gators had to be re-scheduled due to the arrival of Hurricane Irene. That contest will be made up on Saturday, October 1st in Philly.
Electric City has yet to taste defeat this year. The Chargers are 7-0 overall and 6-0 in RAFL action.
If the weather cooperates, Coach Rich “Mongo”?Hall’s lads will be back on the grid Saturday, September 10th against the Braves.
On the Rise
With six weeks of RAFL season already in the books, Electric City finds itself all alone atop the Metro Division standings.
The Chargers own a full 2-game lead on both the Braves and Gators. The Nanticoke based ballclub is also rising quickly in the national rankings.
According to the latest American Football News poll, Electric City has moved up from 13th to 7th.
The Chambersburg Cardinals, who play in the Gridiron Developmental Football League are ranked #1 with a 9-0 mark. The Central Penn Piranhas of Major League Football are #2 at 7-0.
Former Honesdale High and Lackawanna College standout Matty Williams is recovering from a high ankle sprain.
Matty missed the last two games due to this injury, but should be back as the Chargers’ starting center against the Braves.
