A township supervisor in the Poconos has been arrested on a charge of conflict of interest.

The Pocono Record reports http://bit.ly/p799tG that Middle Smithfield Supervisor Robert Spano was led out of a supervisors' meeting in handcuffs Thursday by a detective from the Monroe County District Attorney's office.

Spano was arraigned and sent to the Monroe County Correctional Facility on $250,000 bail.

Spano cast the deciding vote Monday to approve a strip club on his own property. The township's solicitor says Spano was not legally permitted to participate in the vote. The district attorney's office seized an audio recording of the vote earlier this week.

Spano called the vote legitimate and said Thursday, "I did nothing wrong."
