Paupack's boys varsity hoops squad suffered another heartbreaking loss Monday night on the shores of The Big Lake. Coach Rich McGinnis' squad took Delaware Valley to overtime, but lost by a final score of 46-43.
For a second straight time, Paupack played an epic Division One game...and, for a second straight time, the Bucks absorbed a tough loss.
On Monday night in Milford, Coach Rich McGinnis’ squad took Delaware Valley to overtime before coming out on the short end of a 46-43 final score.
Just three days previously, Paupack and Scranton Prep battled to a stalemate at the end of regulation.
Sadly for a raucous Purple Palace crowd, the Cavaliers dominated the extra period en route to a 54-51 win.
On the heels of these losses, Paupack fell to 0-6 in regular season Lackawanna League action.
The Bucks will be back on the hardwood Thursday at home versus Westside.
Opening tip is slated for 7:15 p.m. on the shores of The Big Lake.
Jake Brown has been a real bright spot in an otherwise dark first half.
Paupack’s resident sophomore sensation is evolving into one of the division’s truly elite guards.
Despite a lack of varsity experience, Brown is making life extremely difficult for enemy defenders.
Jake scored a team-best 18 points against DV. He also rattled the rims for 16 in the loss to Prep.
Thus far in the 2010-‘11 campaign, Brown is averaging just under 10 points a game. He’s also dishing out four assists and snagging three steals per outing.
In the loss to DV, Isaiah Slutter contributed nine points to the cause, while Jake Stevens chipped in with eight.
