Birds fly over a peaceful lake scene on the cover of Bonnie LeStrange’s first novel — The Birds of Lake Lenape.
It’s a book about people, says LeStrange, who writes under the pen name of Bronwyn McEnkegry.
“It’s about the value of a human being. We are all important. All people have an immeasurable value and sometimes we need to be reminded of that. Now is one of those times. The book makes us think about that. Children and the downtrodden speak in it. The truth is often found in their words,” said the Honesdale writer.

A book signing is being held on Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Kaiser Fine Photography in Carbondale from 5 to 7 p.m.
