Dr. Matt Corso, optometrist at Family Eye Care of NEPA in Honesdale, was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry at its meeting in San Francisco, California on November 20, 2010.



Dr. Matt Corso, optometrist at Family Eye Care of NEPA in Honesdale, was named a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry at its meeting in San Francisco, California on November 20, 2010.

Eye Care Professionals who become Fellows of the Academy must complete a rigorous candidacy process. Candidates submit extensive written work and must also pass an oral examination. A panel of leading optometrists and vision scientists must approve both the written work and oral examination. Ten percent of practicing optometrists are Fellows of the Academy. Founded in 1922, the Academy’s mission is to promote the art and science of vision care through lifelong learning. Academy Fellows are held to the highest ethical and professional standards of practice.

Dr. Corso graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and practices in Honesdale, PA. He will soon be expanding services to Dingmans Ferry, PA. In addition to private practice, Dr. Corso is a Captain in the Air Force and serves as Chief of Optometry Services for the 105th Medical Group, 105th Air Wing, NY Air National Guard. He resides in Honesdale with his wife Paige, and son Ethan.
