Kelly Sanfilippo, daughter of Sonny and Ann Reynolds of Honesdale, Pa., has been appointed to chief clerk in Delaware County Supreme and County Courts. The appointment was made March 4.
Sanfilippo, 35, of Downsville, NY, was previously the county’s drug court coordinator and assisted in the clerk’s office after her predecessor, Allison Barnes, retired over six months ago. She also was a supervisor and caseworker in the department of social services prior to entering the court system.
In an interview with The Walton Reporter, she said she applied for this role out of a desire for a challenge, learning new things and working with new people. She said she wants to “learn everybody else’s job, so I can understand where they’re coming from and what they need.”
Her duties include making sure that all necessary documents are produced and files maintained properly for the judges. She is also in charge of coordinating the use of the courthouse, scheduling judges and courtrooms and working with court security officers. She stated that she looks to other clerks and her “mentor,” Otsego County Chief Court Clerk Gloria Chandler, to teach her. “Everybody works as a team here,” she told The Walton Reporter.
She and her husband Rocco Sanfilippo have four children, Amber, Jonathan, Kayla and Sierra.
Sanfilippo graduated from Honesdale High School and State University of New York (SUNY).
