Joan Hall from the Pleasant Mount Historical Society asked the Mount Pleasant Township Supervisors this month for funds to pay for the electric bill the historical society receives each month for the Christmas lights in Meredith Park.  “Write a letter and ask for a donation from the township,” advised Wildenstein. “The supervisors will consider it.”

Bridge replacement
Residents voiced concern about the upcoming bridge replacement on route 371 near the fish hatchery in Mount Pleasant Township. Supervisors feel the road through the township is too heavily traveled with no feasible detours available. “You’d have to go through Orson,” said Supervisor Richard Burleigh. “Or through the Russian Settlement (Route 296).”  They feel the state must build a bypass rather than ask school busses, ambulance and residents to add so much travel time.
