Former Honesdale High School standout Pat Blaskiewicz fought off an early season injury to enjoy a solid season for the Misericordia University men's cross country team this fall.


Former Honesdale High School standout Pat Blaskiewicz is continuing his cross country career at Misericordia University in Dallas.

The Cougars finished a respectable 20th overall at NCAA Division III regionals after placing 6th at the 2009 MAC championships.

Blaskiewicz earned the ‘08 Coaches Award at Misericordia and seemed destined for a break-out season this fall. However, an untimely injury cut Pat’s campaign short.

He finished second in a dual meet against Wilkes, then placed 21st overall at the NEPA Classic. Pat’s time in that 6K?event was 21:00.

Blaskiewicz battled his way to a 23rd place finish at Lock Haven (:27:49)?and a 21st place spot at the 2009 Cougar Classic (28:33).

Misericordia finished sixth as a team among 14 entries in this year's MAC Championships. The Cougars then advanced to the NCAA Regionals, where their season ended with a 20th place finish n a field of 45 schools.
