When Gina Palazzi played basketball at Wallenpaupack Area, she was known for her aggressive, physical presence in the low post. Now a freshman at Susquehanna University, Palazzi is continuing to pile up the points and rebounds in the paint.

Former Wallenpaupack Area star Gina Palazzi is continuing her basketball career at the intercollegiate level.

Palazzi is just a freshman at Susquehanna University, but she’s already turning heads as a member of the women’s varsity hoops team.

Gina is listed in the Crusader Media Guide as a 5’10” forward. She has seen extensive action in all four of the team’s early season ballgames.

On the Hardwood

Susquehanna opened the campaign with a heartbreaking 73-72 loss to Messiah. However, the Crusaders bounced right back, winning their next three games in a row.

Palazzi muscled her way to nine points and eight rebounds in Susquehanna’s 76-57 victory over Penn College.

Gina also figured prominently in wins over Shenandoah (59-46)?and Bible Baptist (73-50).

To this point in the season, Palazzi leads the team with 11 offensive rebounds. She is second with 21 boards overall. Gina has also scored 16 points.

The Crusaders will be back on the hardwood Sunday with a road trip to Franklin & Marshall. Opening tip for this Landmark Conference contest.

Gina is the daughter of Lou & Debbie Palazzi, Hawley. She is a biology major.
