Gail Tucker, Executive Director, Greater Honesdale Partnership (GHP), recommends that shoppers will enjoy browsing through Honesdale’s fine gift and specialty shops including Morning Glory Gifts, Selina’s Giving Tree, Girlfriendz, Footprints, Bento, Milkweed, Mini & Floyd, The Cottage (located on the corner of 7th & Church St., just one block off Main St.), Wallflower, The Kountry Barn, and Country Dawn. And, don’t forget The Kitchen Center, located at 301 Erie St., where you’re sure to find everything for the chef or hunter in your life. Antique lovers will surely want to visit Missing Pieces, and art lovers will be awed by The Hanson Gallery & Decorium. Honesdale’s merchants also offer a wide variety of other items including fine clothing for adults and children, electronics, appliances, beautiful jewelry, and clothing for the outdoorsman in your life.
Why not start the holiday season early? Have your pet’s photo taken with Santa at Pet Central, 344 Erie Street, on November 21, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Only $15.00 and all proceeds benefit the Dessin Animal Shelter.

• Sign up for a holiday flower arranging class at Castek’s Floral Shop, being offered on December 2 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Learn how to create that special centerpiece, perfect for your holiday entertaining. $30.00 per person. Space is extremely limited. Call 570-253-0221 for your reservations.
• Get some great bargains at the Highlights for Children book sale, held at the Grace Episcopal Church Parish House, 827 Church Street, December 3 from 1 to 8 p.m., December 4 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and December 5 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Join them at their annual Open House from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Highlights for Children, 803 Church Street. • Saturday, December 5 for Hot Chocolate and Donuts, with Santa Claus at Papa’s Primo Pizza, located at 627 Main Street from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. (free event)
• Kids will love the Santa Express train rides aboard the Stourbridge Line! Santa, Rudolph and friends will all be aboard this two hour excursion. The train departs from Honesdale on Saturdays, December 5 and 19 and on Sundays, December 6 and 13 at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Just $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for children twelve and under. • Enjoy a delicious breakfast with Santa on December 6 at the Trackside Grill, located at 742 Main Street. • Honesdale’s 15th Annual Ornament Hunt will also take place on Saturday, December 12, at 10 am in Honesdale’s Central Park. This popular holiday event, sponsored by Greater Honesdale Partnership and Apple Day Spa & Salon will offer young children the opportunity to hunt for ornaments for a chance to win a prize. Children will be divided into three age groups: Kindergarten and younger; first and second graders; and third and fourth graders. Prizes for the hunt are generously donated by greater Honesdale area businesses. (Free Event)
• On Saturday and Sunday, December 12 & 13 take a little time for yourself and enjoy a scrumptious Holiday Brunch at the Harvest Inn Bed & Breakfast, located at 1415 N. Main Street, across from the Wayne County Public Library. Enjoy homemade French toast, bacon, sausage, and a choice of two kinds of quiche. Served with coffee, tea, and juice, and topped off with a slice of homemade pie!

• Saturday, December 19 it’s Breakfast Pizza with Santa, at Elegantes Family Restaurant & Pizzeria, located at 851 Main St., from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Enjoy breakfast pizza with bacon, ham or sausage, a variety of baked goods, coffee, tea, and juice, all while visiting with Santa himself. $8.00 per adult and $6.00 per child under 12.
