 The following cases were addressed Thursday, November 19, 2009 by the Honorable Raymond L. Hamill, Preside Judge Wayne County:
• Chad Edwin Shafer, age 21 of Hawley was placed on probation for a period of 12 months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, an ungraded misdemeanor.
The incident occurred on April 26, 2009, in Hawley Borough when Pennsylvania State Police observed Shafer traveling with a cover over his license plate.  At that time Shafer was found to be in possession of Marijuana.
He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 50 hours of community service and undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment.
• Richard Michael Estrella, age 19 of Lake Ariel was placed on probation for a period of six months for one count of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Theft, graded as a misdemeanor of the 3rd degree.
 The incident occurred on June 24, 2009, in Lake Township when Estrella conspired with two co-defendants to break into a private residence.
 He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, a fine in the amount of $200.00y $300.00 for the cost of the public defender, perform 50 hours of community service, and obtain full time employment.

• Frederick Diehl, age 28 of Lake Ariel was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, and perform 40 hours of community service.  The incident occurred on June 24, 2009, in Salem Township when Diehl and a co-defendant stole fireworks from a sales tent. 
• John Richard Hill, age 28 of Lake Ariel was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition.  He was ordered to pay all Court costs, and perform 40 hours of community service. The incident occurred on June 24, 2009, in Salem Township when Hill and a co-defendant stole fireworks from a sales tent.
ARD for DUI
• William Douglas Murphy, age 66 of Hawley was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to DUI.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, attend an alcohol highway safety program, have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days.  At that time Murphy also plead guilty to one count of Public Drunkenness, graded as a summary offense.  The incident occurred on July 18, 2008, in Hawley Borough when Hawley Borough Police were called to investigate the report of a possible intoxicated driver.  His BAC was .279%
• Chester Gorski III, age 25 of Honesdale was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to DUI.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, attend an alcohol highway safety program and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 30 days.  The incident occurred on April 9, 2009, in Honesdale Borough when Pennsylvania State Police observed Gorski fail to stop at a properly posted intersection.  His BAC was .157%.
• Kara Rinker, age 35 of Gouldsboro was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to DUI.  She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 20 hours of community service, attend an alcohol highway safety program and have her operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days.  The incident occurred on March 27, 2009, in Lehigh Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a one vehicle crash.  Her BAC was .26%.
• Jeffrey Tellish Jr., age 33 of Jermyn was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of six months related to DUI.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, attend an alcohol highway safety program and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 30 days.  The incident occurred on August 13, 2009, in Honesdale Borough when Honesdale Borough Police observed Tellish fail to stop at a properly posted intersection.  His BAC was .134%.
• Joshua Friend Black, age 27 of Lake Ariel was placed on the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition for a period of six months related to DUI.  He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, perform 40 hours of community service, attend an alcohol highway safety program and have his operator’s license suspended for a period of 60 days.  The incident occurred on June 28, 2009, in Waymart Borough when Pennsylvania State Police observed Black to be speeding.  His BAC was .184%.
