Former Honesdale High School football star Mark Rosa closed out a solid season for Lycoming College this past weekend. The senior tailback carried the ball 20 times for 72 yards and a pair of TDs as the Warriors dealt MAC rival Farleigh Dickinson a 28-21 loss.
Former Honesdale grid star Mark Rosa is continuing his football career at Lycoming University.
A 5’10” 215-pound tailback, Rosa turned in a solid season for the Warriors. The battle-tested senior carried the ball 57 times for 222 yards. Mark also found the enemy endzone four times in seven games.
Rosa averaged 3.7 yards per carry and his longest run from scrimmage was 38 yards.
Lycoming struggled to a 4-6 season in Middle Atlantic Conference action. However, the Warriors closed out the campaign on a high note, handing Farleigh Dickinson a 28-21 loss.
Rosa carried a season-high 20 times for 72 hard-earned yards. Mark also scored a pair of TDs, rumbling into the endzone from 4 and 2 yards away.
The onetime Hornet tailback also enjoyed a big game against Susquehanna. Rosa rushed 12 times for 80 yards, including a 38-yard burst. Mark's biggest carry of the contest was a 2-yard TD plunge in the second quarter.
For his efforts against FDU, Mark Rosa was named Warrior of the Week (Nov. 16-23).
