UPDATE: Route 6, Honesdale Borough: Road construction work continues on Fourth St., between Main & Cliff streets in downtown Honesdale. With the onset of summer, traffic through the area is heavy during peak hours. The contractor is working on the roadway at the corner of Main and Park streets and at 12th and Church Streets before moving down to the Fourth St. area between Terrace and Church Streets. Substructure work is taking place on the Cliff Street side of the bridge in preparation for the setting of the concrete beams this summer. ALERT: Pedestrians should be use caution when walking through the area and utilize crosswalks. The protective fence along Park St. will remain in place until the final phase when a fence and benches will be installed. Motorists are asked to be aware of all traffic control signs informing them of crosswalks that are closed. Please DO NOT BLOCK INTERSECTION and obey the local speed limits. Concrete barriers reduce the lane widths, and permitted loads are restricted to 10'6" through work zone. Allow for left turns during peak time to facilitate traffic. DETOUR for 12th Street at the intersection with Church St. Left turns only from Church onto 12th Street. Detour uses 11th Street to access 12th Street. Project includes construction of the Church Street Bridge over the Lackawaxen River; widening of the 4th Street Bridge; turning traffic one-way on Main and Church streets and installing new traffic signals. Contractor is working Monday through Thursday and on Friday/Saturdays as necessary.
