Camp counselors and local bar patrons got into a tussle at the Orson Inn bar in Preston Township early Saturday morning, state police report.
The altercation began when an unidentified white male in his early twenties initiated a verbal confrontation outside the bar with a camp counselor from Independent Lake Camp, which is located in the township.
The confrontation became physical with one of the males getting hit over the head with a crutch at approximately 1 a.m.
Then another melee occurred stemming from the fight, involving four unidentified local male bar patrons and several Independent Lake Camp counselors, state police report.
State police were unable to identify the local bar patrons, who ranged in age from 20 to 25, or the camp counselors.
An investigation is continuing.
Anyone who may have witnessed this event, or who may know the identities of those involved, is urged to contact state police trooper Michael R. Turlip at 253-7126.

Other crimes

• An 18-year old male allegedly sent two pictures of his private area to a juvenile via a cell phone message last Thursday.
An arrest has not been made pending further investigation.
State police did not identify the suspect or the juvenile’s gender in the publicly available report. The incident may have occurred at Quiet Acres Trailer Park in Texas Township.
• Two people stole a large amount of fireworks from a stand in Salem Township last Thursday, June 25 at 11:40 p.m.
The actors, who remain unidentified, allegedly took $1,767 in fireworks, then left in a dark Ford Explorer traveling west on Route 590.
• State police arrested a fugitive from justice in Pike County on June 19.
Derek Ogonowski, 20, was wanted in Passaic County, N.J. on burglary charges when he was arrested.
Unable to post $25,000 bail, he was placed in Pike County Jail awaiting extradition.
