You are invited to the annual Pleasant Mount 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Line up starts 9 a.m. on the North Road. The parade starts promptly at 10 a.m. The ceremony in the park will be hosted by Costello-Monahan-Brown American Legion Post 964 immediately following the parade.


You are invited to the annual Pleasant Mount 4th of July Parade on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Line up starts 9 a.m. on the North Road. The parade starts promptly at 10 a.m. The ceremony in the park will be hosted by Costello-Monahan-Brown American Legion Post 964 immediately following the parade.
There will be food, activities, a chicken barbeque at the Pleasant Mount Methodist Church  and tours of the Pleasant Mount Historical Society  following the ceremony. The Historical Society is looking for vendors to sell antiques and collectibles on museum grounds. For additional information or to register, please call (570) 840-6669.
There will be a $100 cash prize for most original float, plus $50 to the runner up. Trophies will be awarded for the best looking and oldest tractors, along with a $50 cash prize. Kids age 12 and under may win a trophy for the most patriotic tractor.
The Pleasant Mount Public Library will once again be hosting their book sale, silent auction, and quirt raffle. The Quilting Guild will be hosting a bake sale. All these activities will be inside the community center after the ceremony.
A new event this year is a garden tractor pull located in the ball field behind the community center. Additional information for this event can be obtained by contacting Charles Snigar at (570) 448-9080.
