Nine more part-time correctional officers for the Wayne County Prison were hired, Thursday.
County Commissioners approved hiring: Frank Mumo, Isadora Eakle, Robert Nutt, Michael Loven, Scott Jaycox, Curtis Rosler, Kevin Bowan, Susan Kundrat and Ryan Diehl.
In addition, the Commissioners approved a certificate statement for the fourth quarter of the fiscal year ending June 30, 2008, for Wayne County Children and Youth Services. Andrea Whyte, Human Services Administrator, reported that expenditures from April through June totaled $1,569,773, and year to date, $4,652,138. Last year’s expenses for that time frame was $5.3 million.
According to the County’s web site (www.co.wayne.pa.us), the mission of Wayne County Children and Youth Services is to provide services which promote safer children, successful adolescents, stronger parents, sound families and supportive communities. This is done through protective services, foster home services, adoption services, family preservation programs, and assessment of reports of child abuse and neglect.
