The First Grade of the Wallenpaupack Area South Elementary School in Newfoundland will present their annual music program on Thursday, May 1.


The First Grade of the Wallenpaupack Area South Elementary School in Newfoundland will present their annual music program on Thursday, May 1.  The children will open the program with four songs using bells they made in art class under the direction of Debbie Pulst, South Elementary Art Teacher.  The songs are "Are You Sleeping, Mom and Dad?" also sung in French by the children, "Ding, Dong, The Bells Do Ring" by Carl Orff, "Hear the Bells Ring" and "Little Wheel a Turnin'," an African American Spiritual. Karlee Mangiello says, "I like bunnies.  They are very cute."  Karli Mercereau says, "There a lots of monkeys at the zoo!" Show time is 7 p.m. in the school's cafetorium.  Jean M. Shields is the music teacher and Dr. Nancy Simon is principal.  The public is invited to attend the performance.
