State Police, Honesdale barracks reported that on Thursday, April 24, Richard T. Ornick and Darren Howell, both 22 and both from Waymart, were traveling north on SR 296 in South Canaan Township. At 6:19 p.m., Ornick, on a 2004 Honda CDR1000, attempted to pull up along side Howell, and truck the rear of Howell’s 1998 Suzuki Katana.
At that point, Ornick lost control of his motorcycle and fell off, said Trooper John Chervanka. The operator and cycle came to rest along the west berm.
They were both wearing a helmet.
On Friday at 7:57 p.m., Benjamin R. Brink, 66, of Honesdale, was operating a 2006 Honda Shadow south on SR 191, Lebanon Township. A deer entered the road from the right side, and Brink had no time to react before striking the deer, said Trooper Chervanka.  Brink’s motorcycle slid approximately 125 feet before coming to an uncontrolled rest along the west berm. He was transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital for moderate injuries.
