An extensive ground and air search for a missing Pike County man has not revealed his whereabouts.


An extensive ground and air search for a missing Pike County man has not revealed his whereabouts.
54-year-old John Lester of Stony Hollow Circle, Winona Lakes, Lehman Township, has been missing since Tuesday afternoon. An earlier police report described Mr. Lester as being depressed, having recently been diagnosed with diabetes.
He’s described as a white male, five feet eight inches tall, 135 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
Nearly a dozen emergency response teams joined an extensive 24-hour search for Mr. Lester, combing the woods, roads, streams, and residential areas surrounding his home. State Police say his whereabouts remain unknown, with no sightings or contact made.
Assisting in the search were: Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove, Pennsylvania State Police Aviation Unit helicopter, Bushkill Fire Department, Bushkill Ambulance, Med Mobile Ambulance, Blue Mountain Search and Rescue, Valley Search and Rescue, East Penn Search and Rescue, North East Search and Rescue, Pocono Search and Rescue, and Strike K-9.
According to the police report, the investigation is ongoing although the ground search has ended. If you have any information concerning Mr. Lester’s whereabouts, you’re asked to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at Blooming Grove at 226-5718.
Mr. Lester, who walks with a cane, was last seen wearing a short blue jacket, green flannel shirt, white sweat pants and tan work boots. He was last seen around noon on Tuesday, outside his home.
