Honesdale High School Assistant Principal Tim Morgan was injured in a snowmobiling accident in Beach Lake, Saturday.

As of Thursday, he remained hospitalized at CMC in Scranton, in stable condition, said Wayne Highlands School Superintendent Tom Jenkins. The superintendent said Morgan’s daughter, who was on the snowmobile with him, suffered bumps and bruises, and was treated at the hospital and released.

Beach Lake Fire Chief Tony Franklin said they were toned out for a victim of a snowmobile accident and told the patient would be meeting them at the fire station. Chief Franklin says Morgan was brought to the station in the back of a pickup truck.
He said squad members started treating Morgan until Tusten Ambulance and Honesdale ALS arrived. “As soon as the EMT’s (emergency medical technicians) said they were going to fly, we set up a landing zone at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church,” he said. Morgan was then life-flighted to CMC.

Unable to comment on the extent of Morgan’s injuries, Jenkins said he believed it would be several weeks before he would be able to return to his duties at school.

Morgan has been with the Wayne Highlands School District for over 10 years as a social studies teacher and is completing his first year as assistant principal
