Truck hits trees
State Police at Honesdale responded to a crash Sunday, February 24 in Clinton Township where the driver sideswiped a tree before hitting a second tree head-on.
According to the police report, 37-year-old Stephen Ursich of Waymart was traveling northbound on Belmont Turnpike when his truck traveled out of the travel lane and onto the east berm. The report says Ursich’s truck tires caught in the snow, pulling his vehicle further off the roadway where it sideswiped a tree and then hit a second head-on.
Trooper Jamison Warner’s report says Ursich said he had to get over because of an oncoming vehicle crowding him and that when his tires hit the snow on the berm, it pulled the truck off the road and he couldn’t steer it anymore.
Ursich was wearing his seatbelt.
