On Saturday, February 23 at 1:45 a.m. Honesdale Police responded to 721 Ridge Street for a reported domestic assault.
On Saturday, February 23 at 1:45 a.m. Honesdale Police responded to 721 Ridge Street for a reported domestic assault. Investigation revealed that a 21 year old woman had been assaulted by her18 year old boyfriend, Brian Lanza II. It was also learned that when an 18 year old female friend of the victim tried to help, she was also shoved. Then when the friend called 911, Lanza hung up the phone, trying to prevent the call for help.
As a result of the investigation police arrested Lanza for two counts of simple assault and one count of harassment against the 21 year old girlfriend. He was also charged with one count of harassment for shoving the friend as well as intimidation of a victim or witness for hanging up the 911 call to prevent police notification.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Bonnie Carney of Hawley and remanded to the Wayne County Prison in lieu of $3,500.00 bail.
On Monday, February 18 the Honesdale Borough Police responded to the Wayne County Prison for a report of an inmate that had been assaulted by another inmate.
An investigation revealed that 18 year old Matthew Tucci of White Mills allegedly had punched 40 year old Derek Pascavage of Lakeville in the face several times over being harassed by Passcavage.
Pascavage received injuries to his face and nose that required medical attention. Tucci was charged with one count of simple assault and brought before Magistrate Snyder where he was arraigned and bail was set at $10,000.00. Tucci was remanded back to the Wayne County Prison to await his hearing.
