Another infrastructure improvement project is about to start in Honesdale.
Aqua PA officials have announced a major water line replacement project in Honesdale Borough.
The $632,000 project will replace 3,500 feet of old, undersized and leak-prone pipes with new 8-inch cement lined ductile iron pipe.
The project is going to take place on Erie Street, Brown Street, Goodman Street and Buck's Cove Road.
Aqua officials said the new pipe "will improve water quality and service reliability for Honesdale customers."
Construction is scheduled to take place Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Company officials said the project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Officials said that throughout the construction period there might be temporary inconveniences including interruptions to traffic, periods of cloudy or discolored water, low water pressure or not water.
"We will do our best to minimize these inconveniences and ask for your patience during construction," said a statement from the company issued by Louis DeMarco, Jr., construction coordinator for the Honesdale Division.
Once the project is complete, disturbed surfaces will be fully restored. Aqua officials said they will have an inspector on site to ensure a quality project and to address any concerns from customers.
